High-Speed DSL Service Provided Through AT&T

December 11, 2012 at 9:32 pm

I need to choose a provider of high-speed internet in the near future, and I am trying to figure out what would be the best for me in my current situation. I need to have an internet service that is very fast and also reliable. I work from home right now, and that is why I need to make sure that I have a reliable connection to the internet. Anyway, I was reading about att dsl services and it seems like they might have what I am looking for. I just need to look up their website, or give them a call, so I can see how much the service is going to cost me on a monthly basis.

I need to get this service installed as soon as possible. I am in the process of moving to a new apartment, and it is the new apartment that I need to get internet service in. I still have an internet connection where I am living now, but I will need to be completely out of here within the next week or so, give or take a couple of days. As such, I really need to have the internet installed before then, as I will need to have the net up and running in order to do my job from home. I hope I can find a good price on this internet service as well; I already have to pay a lot of bills on a monthly basis, and this new apartment of mine is quite expensive actually. I am hoping to get a promotion at my job though in the next couple of months, so that should help with my expenses. I wonder if I can go ahead and schedule a time for someone to come over and install internet for me.

Is Your Business Protected From Cyber Attacks?

June 14, 2013 at 11:23 am

Security is always a concern when it comes to hosting data. It seems that people are always trying to take data in one form or another and the threat level is not something that is local either. These threats are happening on a global level. Businesses and computers from all over the world are now becoming victims of hackers and cyber criminals. It has become so bad that businesses are looking for help. They are looking for someone to help them with some form of protection. This protection has arrived in the form of data mining.

How Does Data Mining Offer Protection?
Every single time a cyber-criminal tries to break into a computer system, they leave a data trail. This data is being collected and put into large databases. Once all of this data has been put into these large databases, something starts to become very apparent. Patterns start to emerge and these patterns are what help offer protection. It is ironic how companies are using this type of data to build a wall of protection, but it really works very well.

Vulnerabilities Exist Almost Everywhere
Unfortunately there really is no platform or operating system that is safe from these types of security vulnerabilities. They are showing up everywhere data is being used. There are threats to mobile data solutions and there are even threats to social networks. Cyber criminals are very intelligent. They know how to pry and get the information they need to break in a network and steal as much data as possible before anyone even notices. Protection at this point is paramount. Luckily companies can take full advantage services like: http://cloudsecurity.trendmicro.com/us/technology-innovation/our-technology/smart-protection-network/index.html. If your business is currently having any issues with security, then this may be a good option for you as well. This is one area where ignorance is not bliss.

A Quick Guide to Finding People Online

May 8, 2013 at 10:28 am

people-searchDo you want to find someone so you can reconnect with them but you don’t know the first place to start looking? If you have been looking for long lost relatives or friends, then you should check out my life on the internet first. It is highly likely you will find your old childhood friends and relatives on their website so you should start looking there first. Many people try to look up their friends in the phone book, but this is not an effective way to find someone because they may be unlisted or they may have moved to a new city and you won’t have the phone book for that city. So here’s a quick guide to finding people on the internet.

Use Social Networking Websites

The first place you should think about when you want to find long lost connections is to use social networking websites. There are several websites that allow you to sign up for free so you can create your own profile so you can start searching for your friends and family members. This is easy to do and you will be able to find your old connections quicker. You will want to send your contacts a message to open up dialogue so they know you have been looking for them.

Other Ways to Find People

There are many other ways to find people, but it may take you a lot longer to find them. One way is to search through a phone book, but if you don’t know what city they live in, then that way will not help you find your friend or relative. Another way you can search for someone is to do a keyword search in your favorite search engine. You will be able to look through the thousands of search results to find your old friends, but it may take you a long time to search through all of the results.

Awesome Yet Obsolete English Words We Should Still Use

April 23, 2013 at 3:28 am

ginger-grammar-chekIt’s natural that a number of words today have their roots in the language of yore, and sadder still that many of the most cool have suffered a sad demise. Whether the sounds simply roll off the tongue or the definition is so uncannily precise, we have lost some morphemes that have serious impact. If free online proofreading programs would just allow it: some of those words should be brought back into modern usage – posthaste!

Shinnicked

Meaning “to be paralyzed with cold,” shinnicked could find a very happy place among the language of today. Look at the possibilities: “After the stunning defeat of the Buffalo Bills, my husband was shinnicked and miserable for hours.” Perhaps he should find another team to root for, but in the meantime, this word is the bees-knees!

Jesse

Now mostly designated as the male form of a popular name, in the 18th century it was not uncommon for one person to give the other serious hell, or: really give ‘em Jesse. Physically speaking, you could punch out someone’s lights, but an irate mother-in-law could distribute her verbal Jesse in private, out of the hearing of her sons’ wives. And just think of the swell of self-confidence all the Jesses in the world would experience now that their names are synonymous once again with some serious business.

Ficulnean

Apparently someone once had it out for fig tree wood and they deemed it just worthless. How exactly that translated into the word “ficulnean,” which means “as worthless as fig tree wood” is not entirely clear, but a mental note has been made not to build our next skyscraper out of the soft material. It is unfortunate the word won’t show up in a spell check on www.gingersoftware.com, but you’ll know what you mean when your next research paper reads, “Please, professor, don’t tell me my efforts to describe the political turmoil in Revolutionary France have been ficulnean.”
